ETIG Preconference 2007
The Emerging Technologies Interest Group is pround to sponsor a pre-conference at CLA in 2007, entitled Getting to Library 2.0
If you've heard the "2.0" moniker tossed around over the past few months and are eager to get a grasp on what it means for libraries & librarians, this workshop is for you! Join the Emerging Technologies Interest Group for a day of exploration and discovery as we wade through the world of Web 2.0 and Library 2.0, separating the tools from the hype and getting down to the basics of what 2.0 tools are all about and what they can do for our library users. Whether you work in a public, academic, special or school library, our dynamic speakers will introduce you to technologies such as blogs, mash-ups, RSS, IM, social bookmarking, and online social networks. This session will provide practical examples of libraries that are using these tools and technologies, as well as give you the expertise to introduce these technologies in your own library. This session is subject to limited enrollment, so register early!
