Library Web Team

The purpose of the team is to provide leadership and direction in the library website development.

Chair
Wendy Rodgers
  • administer and coordinate all aspects of library website development
  • call and chair meetings of the web team
  • coordinate webshifts (major changes to website)
  • coordinate across branches to avoid duplication of effort
  • assign responsibility to content providers and html editors
  • responsible for main library home page and web team pages
  • send notification of website issues to MUN Newsline, Gazette, Muse and other MUN Publications
  • arrange major library web public relations events
  • responsible for NEWS section of site

Systems
Lisa Goddard and Albert Norman
  • responsible for all administration and management of the library server
  • provide technical advice to team
  • identify, test and recommend software needed for website development
  • report on design innovations, trends and standards to web team
  • bring news & developments about the MUN and ASIN portals to thelibrary web team

HTML Specialist
Mary Hayes
  • provide training sessions to editors
  • provide html support to editors
  • keep editors up to date on site and CMS developments via the listserv
  • check library pages to ensure compliance with standards

Integration
Gillian Byrne
  • focus on the integration of the website with;
    • rooms
    • the new LMS, Desire2Learn
    • other university portals
  • responsible for determining best methods of pushing our web presence into other systems.

Distance Education
Janet Goosney
  • represent the interests of distance education

Special Collections & Archives
Colleen Field
  • represent the interests of the MUN libraries special collections

Usability & Reports
Wendy Rodgers and Crystal Rose
  • collect & analyze management information about website usage
  • conduct usability and focus group studies on site

Federated search
Ian Gibson
  • Focus on federated search systems and their use on the website
Branch Representatives
  • provide input from the branch to the team
  • ensure pages are designed to avoid duplication of effort across branches
  • ensure that pages are created and uploaded using templates & CMS
