Special periodical issues (Analytics)

When creating the title record, at the COPY Information screen, use BARCODE = AUTO, TYPE = PERIODICAL, and HOME LOCATION = PERIODICAL. At the CALL NUMBER INFORMATION screen use CLASS SCHEME = ANALYTIC and the LIBRARY name of the owning branch of the parent periodical.

Describe the analytic document as you would any other monograph, using the special issue's author(s), title, and paging information. The latter may be a range of pages (ex: "p. 355-532") if the document being described is within a continuously paged serial volume. Perform subject analysis appropriate to the issue itself. To identify the parent periodical use a series statement (440 or 490/8xx) if the issue is a regular part of the series, or a general (500) note with a corresponding uniform title in 730, 700, 710, or 711 as appropriate if the issue is a supplement outside of the regular numbering of the set.
